At RLBeef, our yearly steer allocation is very limited as we hand select 15-25 of our top tier steers per calving cycle. We size up our Champions based upon years of hands-on experience & generational knowledge. Height, width, shoulder, loin, brisket size and feeding bunk behaviors are all carefully evaluated for maximum steer development & marbling potential. If you are looking for fancy packaging-- that’s not us--but if you are looking for a real VIP Iowa Black Angus Beef experience to feed and impress your family and friends, our RLBeef is as good as it gets.

As a devout French Catholic, our Great, Great, Grandfather fled France with an adventurous pursuit of Religious Freedom & Family Prosperity. Our family migrated down thru Canada, settling in the American Dakota & Sioux Territories during the mid-1800’s where we quickly thrived in agriculture & cattle.
Four generations later, Our Family Farms have expanded into the Rolling High Grounds of the Loess Hills, located in the Heart of Northwest Iowa, overlooking what is now the Missouri River Basin. For nearly a century our late father Robert Lee Bertrand only offered his hand fed Black Angus Beef to family, friends & neighbors. As a tribute to his love of Family, Country, & Cattle, RLBeef was formed by his two sons Richard Lee and Russell Lee & are proud to offer You & Your Family a Genuine VIP Iowa Black Angus Custom Beef Experience. As a fully functioning Family Farm, we proudly grow all of our own corn, prairie hay, & alfalfa that supports our Black Angus Herd & Heritage. Our family understands how to marble our beef properly and throughout the growing process. While most beef is factory farm produced with protein/corn finished only, our family has perfected our own unique feeding sequence that consists of several corn variations that are introduced throughout your steers maturation process. These hand-picked Steers are bucket fed daily. Our family feeding tradition yields consistent marbling throughout your cuts which maximizes flavor and tenderness.
